What is Tai Chi? Movement, Breathing, Meditation and Relaxation
Practiced in China for centuries, Tai Chi is a martial art form that uses slow movements to connect the mind and body.
So What is Tai Chi? Tai chi, a form of exercise and meditation, has been found to boost immunity and improve immune function, offering benefits to patients with autoimmune disorders involving Movement, Breathing, Meditation and Relaxation.
I've been testing it for a few months now and with a few tries I found it quite reasonable. You probably didn't know that Tai Chi was practiced in China for hundreds of years and I don't know how big its fan base is, but now I've started to notice how it actually works.

I thought Tai Chi would be an odd choice as I am considered meditative, but I didn't expect the practical part of tai chi, the meditation part, to be a more interesting idea.

- You have to be still and let go of your thoughts.

and develops endurance and flexibility, decreases fatigue and improves overall
Tai Chi Chuan is an ancient Chinese form of martial arts that is used as a form of exercise.
In a recent 25-week study sponsored by grants from the National Institute on Aging and the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine, researchers found that Tai Chi effectively strengthens the immune system.

A weakened immune system works erratically and targets the body's own proteins. This is an underlying cause of autoimmune disease.
Immunity tends to decline with age, which is one of the reasons for the increased risk of autoimmune diseases in the elderly. Also, the incidence of shingles, influenza, and other infections increases as we age.
And vaccines are not as effective in the elderly population. The results of the Tai Chi study showed that immunity to shingles in exercising adults was similar to that of older adults receiving shingles vaccines.
This level was also similar to normal immunity levels seen in healthy middle-aged adults.

While this is true, I think the idea that tai chi benefits your mental health is more credible than you might imagine, if you are capable of doing tai chi. Effects of Tai Chi on the immune system
In a 12-week study [Yeh SH, Chuang H, Lin HW, and Hsiao CY, regular tai chi chuan exercise improves functional mobility and CD4CD25 regulatory T cells, British Journal of Sports Medicine, March 2006; 40 (3): 230 -243.] Of the immune system changes associated with tai chi chuan, the researchers found that total red and white blood cell counts did not change significantly.
However, there was a significant decrease in the monocyte count and there was a significant increase in the ratio of helper T cells to suppressor T cells.
Regulatory T cell function was also enhanced. Tai chi and other forms of exercise have been found to increase levels of interleukin-6 (IL-6), a cytokine known to inhibit tumor necrosis factor, reducing inflammation.
You can use tai chi to promote mental health and physical fitness. Just remember that tai chi is not intended to complement yoga or other forms of exercise.
When you feel like you should take tai chi before a practice that you already do, but for whatever reason, you might not want to do it? You may want to create a different system or a system that you have as well, so if you are willing to try something that can help you with your own health.

Practicing tai chi is a very easy and fast way to get in touch with yourself. You will find yourself with much more peace and clarity in your mind. You will probably feel a sense of peace.
